Laktating Yak only played a couple times in Houston before one of their guitarists and writers, Charlie Bryan, moved to Memphis. They managed to record this prog masterpiece, Origin of the Yak, before that, with promises of reunions to play and record again in the future. Origin of the Yak is alienally human, piston-pitched, caca-phonous, orgysmal, milky, yaktastic, and a Where’s-Waldo of 3D imps playing demon bones. Bosch spins Lak Yak on his pointed-tail turntable in hell and dances in satin sheets of pigskin. Members of Lak Yak have also been in Dead Time, KA, Etched in the Eye, CARL, Flender, Big Grump, and Teleprompter. Keep them on your ear-dar.
from the Yak’s Mouth
Yaks are known for their hardy constitution, serene demeanor, and rich milk. During the most dire and desperate circumstances of mountain expeditions, it is said that the yak has an equable presence of balminess for human beings. Even the greatest fears humans experience are relinquished by the “Tsak of the Yak.”
The smell of yak’s milk replenishes spiritual vitality as well as erectile dysfunction, leading to a path of “Hidden Yak Fantasy.” Once the yak’s milk is consumed, it chemically interacts with human anatomy in a similar fashion to adrenaline, minimizing the follies of “The Errorist” in an expedition.
The “Invokation of the Yak” unto a mountain expedition is a two part process. This occurs before and after the expedition. Prior to the Invokation, a “Summoning (of Yak)” is conducted by a didgeridoo master. There is still no explanation for the consistent arrival of only the heaviest cow in the region. Upon it’s arrival, the yak will be milked by the youngest member of the group while the didgeridoo continues to swell at the hands of the eldest member. This milk is intended for immediate consumption by all participants, ensuring a safe journey. The amount of milk that is harvested is a direct reflection of the metaphysical bounty the journey will bestow upon each participant. If the milk is spilled or wasted, it is believed that a “Stampede of Yak” will ensue, resulting in an earthquake of ferocious magnitude.
The origin of the yak is unknown to mortals however there is a fabled story, amongst elder sherpas in the Nepalese region of the Himalayas, that has been passed down for thousands of years. This legend is shared through a musical context…
